How it works
FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is Robinhood Chain?
A public, Ethereum-compatible blockchain (an Arbitrum layer 2) built for tokenized assets. BluMoney keeps your wallet there, so payments and trades settle in seconds and anyone can check them on the block explorer.
What are “dollars” on BluMoney?
USDG (Global Dollar), a dollar-backed stablecoin issued by Paxos and the native stablecoin of Robinhood Chain. One USDG is designed to equal one US dollar.
Do I need an iPhone?
BluMoney works in iMessage, so you text it from an iPhone, iPad or Mac.
What does it cost?
Sending costs 0.5% (minimum $0.05), and it’s free if you hold 100,000 $BLU. Trading costs 1.5%, down to 0.5% for $BLU holders, and buying $BLU itself is free. Receiving is free and network gas is covered.
What is $BLU?
BluMoney’s own token. Holding it lowers what you pay: free sends from 100,000 $BLU and trades down to 0.5%. 50% of every BluMoney fee buys $BLU back and burns it. It’s a utility token, not an investment.
What if I send to the wrong person?
Every payment is read back to you with the recipient before anything happens. Blockchain payments can’t be reversed, so check it before you reply YES.
What if I lose my phone?
Your wallet belongs to your phone number. Get your number back from your carrier and you’re back in. The $5,000 daily limit, and the 12-hour wait to raise it, keep the risk small in the meantime.
Can I move money out?
Anytime. Send to any 0x address on Robinhood Chain, like your exchange account or your own wallet.
Is BluMoney affiliated with Robinhood?
No. BluMoney is an independent app built on Robinhood Chain, a public blockchain anyone can build on. BluMoney is not a product of Robinhood Markets, Inc.
Is BluMoney a bank?
No. BluMoney is software that keeps a wallet for your number and moves digital assets when you tell it to. Balances are not bank deposits and are not insured.
